TREATMENT FOR MIGRAINES

Your headache condition does not respond to medical treatment for migraines. You are in chronic pain and seeking treatment for migraines that reduces severity, frequency, and duration. Migraines create a high stress state in your brain, which causes an increase in sympathetic response and a decrease in parasympathetic response. Simply stated, this means brainwave imbalance which negatively impact normal brainwave function. The results are symptoms that take their toll on your life including inability to focus, mood swings and throbbing pain.

If the stressful trigger of the migraine continues, the response becomes chronic. Once ongoing, it is harder and harder for your brain to re-regulate or normalize function. LANC’s Direct Neurofeedback (DNFB) and Biofeedback are research supported for those seeking treatment for migraines and migraines prevention.  When you reduce the impact of stress on your nervous system, and reset dysfunctional neuronal pathways, you reduce your vulnerability to migraine.

WITH NEARLY A DECADE IN THE FIELD, LANC’S MISSION REMAINS TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO YOU AND YOURS WHO SEEK TREATMENT FOR MIGRAINES.

MIGRAINES TRIGGERS

A migraine headache brings on severe throbbing pain, usually in one part of the head. Nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound often accompany a migraine. Migraines can also be triggered by hormonal imbalance, light sensitivity, allergies and dehydration to neuro-metabolic issues. This leaves your brain in a high state of stress and imbalance. The headache can last from 2 to 72 hours. The symptoms can be so severe you cannot continue with normal activities. Instead you must find a dark and quiet place, lie down, and wait for the pain to pass.

Approximately 28 million Americans suffer migraines. They are a major source of absenteeism in the workplace, costing employers $13 billion. Migraines are thought to be caused by a combination of environmental factors and genetic vulnerability. About two thirds of migraineurs have a positive family history. Some people notice early warning signs that a migraine is coming. These include visual effects such as flashes of light or blind spots, or pins and needles sensations on your limbs. Some people continue to feel aftereffects of the migraine including fatigue, difficulties in thinking, gastrointestinal symptoms, mood changes, or weakness.

"I would highly recommend trying Neurofeedback with the LANC team if you are suffering from any type of headache or head injury.”

TRADITIONAL TREATMENT FOR MIGRAINES & MIGRAINES CURE

Medication is the standard protocol of treatment for migraines. Medications offer temporary pain relief by blocking pain receptor sites, but do not address the brainwave imbalance which may be contributing to your pain. Medications can offer short-term help with a little headache but are not a long-term viable solution as they offer no correction and come with high risks and the potential for addiction. Moreover, according to research studies, up to 84% of those taking migraine medications report being unsatisfied; stating the headache treatment does not alleviate the pain.

It is often helpful to carefully monitor your experience prior to the headaches to identify events or factors that regularly trigger a migraine. Often migraines can be part of an anxiety attack.  This awareness allows you to make changes in your lifestyle to eliminate triggering experiences and gain tools to manage anxiety and stress. Stress management and biofeedback can help to reduce the frequency and severity of migraines.

We would never use the word cure as the migraine is often a symptom not a disease. However, with those who have sought migraine help at the Center, we have a 98% track record of relieving the symptoms to enduring results.

When balance and function is restored, your outcomes are optimized, and health is improved. Moreover, multiple studies of have been done of the effectiveness of HRV biofeedback for help with a headache. EXPECTATIONS FOR A LANC SESSION

Sessions are 20-30 minutes long, and the client remains passively relaxing in a comfortable chair.  It is not uncommon for a client to experience a feeling of lightness and relaxation in the very first session. While this effect is temporary, follow-up sessions encourage the brain to develop and access the new pathways it has discovered until they become “permanent.” As these sessions last about 30 minutes and are usually done twice a week for the first three weeks, improvement may be seen quite quickly–especially when compared to medication.

Although LANC’s DNFB technology is quite sophisticated, the process is simple, painless, and non-invasive.  Your brain is guided by instantaneous feedback of changes in your brain’s electrical activity by the millisecond. In 20 neurofeedback sessions with feedback every millisecond, your brain has many chances to reshape itself for greater stability.  Greater stability leads to fewer migraine attacks.  If you have struggled with treatment of migraines and migraines prevention, come in today.
